First Lady Erdogan inaugurates Chingiz Aitmatov Hall in Turkish-Kyrgyz Cultural Center.
First Lady Emine Erdogan, who is accompanying President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his official visit to Kyrgyzstan, attended the opening ceremony of the Chingiz Aitmatov Hall in the Turkish-Kyrgyz Cultural Center.
Also present at the ceremony, where First Lady Erdogan delivered a brief speech, were First Lady Aigul Jeenbekova of Kyrgyzstan and spouses of ministers with the Turkish delegation.

Stating that she is very happy that Turkey has built a department at the National Library of Kyrgyzstan, which has a historical past of 84 years, and has contributed to science and knowledge, First Lady Erdogan noted that they feel the pride and honor of introducing a department which can now be used as a cultural center, as well. “It is pleasing that important pieces published in Turkey in the areas of culture, arts, history, science, tourism and healthcare have been made available for Kyrgyz researchers, students and readers,” First Lady Erdogan said, noting that the National Library of Kyrgyzstan has become worthy of its name with the works of Chingiz Aitmatov and other thousands of books dedicated to him.

Highlighting that one of the best parts of the cultural center, which they are inaugurating, is it being named after a thinker and a man of letters, Chingiz Aitmatov, First Lady Erdogan said that the center will be Turkey’s gift to the Kyrgyz nation in the memory of Aitmatov on the occasion of his 90th birthday. Following her speech, First Lady Erdogan cut the ribbon with First Lady Jeenbekova of Kyrgyzstan and inaugurated the Hall.
